On-It transit no longer running to and from Okotoks

Commuters from Okotoks will no longer have the option of catching a ride on On-It regional transit.

The organization has announced it is discontinuing service between Calgary and Okotoks after almost a decade.

The last day will be May 29.

“The closure of the service is due to an aging fleet with no cost‑effective replacement options,” On-It said in a statement on its website.

“Combined with significantly higher operating costs in recent years, this service model is no longer sustainable.”

On-It says unused tickets will be refunded between June 1 and 12.
