An investigation is underway after human remains were discovered by workers on a construction site in Sarnia on Wednesday. According to a news release, Sarnia police received a report that a construction crew digging in the 1300 block of Lakeshore Road had excavated what they believed to be human bones. Work at the construction site was immediately discontinued. Officers attended the scene and located bones in the excavated area, which they believed were human remains. The Coroner’s Office was contacted and confirmed the remains as human. The Coroner’s Office is conducting the investigation into the found remains, with support from the Sarnia Police Service as needed. Police say that at this time, the investigation does not appear to be criminal in nature.
