Okotoks man wins $210K in Lotto 6-49

An Okotoks man says he’s always wanted to win and now he has.

Nels Kelly is the latest Albertan to be awarded in the Lotto 6-49, winning $209,908 in the Sept. 13 draw.

Kelly says he was on his way to the dog park and stopped for a drink and to check his ticket.

“I almost blacked out,” he says when he learned he’d won big.

“I was in complete disbelief. I think I’m still in shock!”

Kelly says he plans to use the money to take a vacation – his first in almost 10 years.

“I was thinking of going somewhere on a 747 aircraft – I really enjoy them!”

Kelly bought his ticket at the Aldersyde Petro Canada, located at 200-64273 Highway 547 East.

He matched five out of six numbers on the main draw – 13, 21, 23, 33, 35 and 45 – plus the bonus number, 1.
