Lethbridge police have charged a 38-year-old man in connection with three separate incidents of fraud involving false pretences. Police say that in each reported case, the suspect approached victims and requested money to help with what was later determined to be a fabricated family emergency. According to police, the suspect told victims the funds would be returned promptly, but the money was never repaid. Following an investigation, police arrested 38-year-old Jordan Willian Bennet and charged him with three counts of fraud under $5,000. Bennet was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on July 9. Police say there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with a similar experience or information related to the investigation to contact them.
