The final voting results of election night started to come in on Tuesday afternoon, confirming a Conservative win in the riding of Calgary McKnight. Conservative Dalwinder Gill secured 20,850 votes, for 49.1 per cent of the vote, to claim the seat. Gill unseats Liberal George Chahal, who was Calgary’s only elected Liberal MP in the 2021 election. Here are the final results for the riding: According to the Conservative Party, Gill has worked in real estate in Calgary for more than 21 years. After the dust settled in Calgary, the Conservatives’ and Liberals’ positions remained unchanged, with 10 seats in blue and just one in Liberal red. With Chahal losing his seat, Corey Hogan became the sole Liberal MP elected in Calgary. Chahal spoke to supporters on Monday night, saying with the race still up in the air, he would put out a statement once the results had been finalized.
