Calgary police are investigating a sexual assault at the Southland CTrain station. Officers were called to the station’s parking lot at around 1 a.m. Tuesday after a witness reported a vulnerable woman in distress who appeared to have been sexually assaulted. Police say the victim was taken to hospital in stable condition. Investigators believe the woman did not know her attacker. “The random nature of this assault is extremely concerning to us,” Staff Sgt. Tom Hanson said in a news release. “We are asking the public to remain vigilant until this suspect is found and to connect with us if they have any information to provide on this incident or this suspect.” The suspect is described as having dark brown hair. Witnesses reported seeing a mid-sized, black SUV with chrome trim around the windows flee the area. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
