After more than five decades, an iconic country music venue in Calgary is relocating as part of a major redevelopment project. Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall is moving in 2027 from its historic location along Macleod Trail S.E. Developers signed a lease for a larger location nearby, with plans to develop “Ranchman’s Village.” Renderings show a commercial main street with retail and a large plaza, along with a five-storey residential building. Ranchman’s has been a hot spot for the Calgary Stampede and rodeo community for 54 years. It will continue to operate through the end of this year, with plans for its final Stampede celebration. The new location is expected to be revealed in the coming months.
