Final flurries ahead as winter blast eases

A look at the weather in Calgary for the next few days.

This burst of winter is just about done in Calgary.

The snow will taper off into isolated flurries early Saturday morning. Flurries are possible in the city until 5 a.m. The clouds will start to clear out in the afternoon, but the cold will stick around for the day. In the morning with the wind chill it will feel like -20, and boost to -14 in the afternoon.

We will bounce back to spring-like temperatures on Sunday with lots of sunshine. Most of next week will be warm too.

Stay out of the backcountry this weekend. With the fresh 20 to 40 centimetres of snow combined with the strong winds, the snowpack is very unstable. The blue dot on the map is where the avalanche occurred Friday. Check out the latest on Avalanche.ca
