Early morning fire damages five properties east of Calgary

An early-morning fire east of Calgary damaged 5 homes.

An investigation is underway into what caused a structure fire in the Conrich area east of Calgary early Tuesday.

Fire crews from Rocky View County stations in Balzac, Landon and Springbank were joined by support from the Chestermere Fire Department to combat a fire in a home under construction that spread to two other houses.

The fire was brought under control, but there was significant damage done to all three homes, and minor to moderate damage done to two other properties.

No one was injured.
