Okotoks combined timely hitting with shut down pitching to defeat the Sylvan Lake Gulls 12-1 Thursday night. A happy, hot summer crowd of 5,255 at Seaman Stadium watched the Dawgs string together 13 hits including three home runs to take down the Gulls. Nash Crowell was a one-man wrecking crew for Okotoks, delivering a pair of homers and three hits overall that produced eight runs batted in. He also scored three runs. Jayden Lusk had a double and a home run, while Jordan Kievman reached base four times, producing two doubles, two RBI and two walks -- and three runs. Meanwhile on the mound, Jordan Lumberg gave up one run and five hits over six innings, striking out eight. Will Labonte tossed two shutout innings of relief. Okotoks travels to Sylvan Lake Friday night to take on the Gulls again. They’re back at Seaman Stadium Saturday night, when they’ll host the Energy City Cactus Rats. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
