Calgary Zoo brings back Penguin Walk

The Calgary Zoo's king penguins will be starting daily walks again at the facility at 10 a.m. Keepers say the routine helps the animals' enrichment and exercise.

Officials at the Calgary Zoo have announced they are bringing back the wildly popular event featuring everyone’s favourite polar stars – the king penguins.

The Penguin Walk will be taking place on a daily basis at 10 a.m.

The birds will be marching through a new route which helps the animals with enrichment and exercise.

Staff at the Calgary Zoo says the walk is usually subject to the penguins’ desire to take a walk, but the only other time it would be cancelled is if the weather takes a dramatic turn for the worse.

The first walk is on Friday at 10 a.m.
