It will be a chilly week in Calgary this week as the temperature is set to remain below normal before recovering a bit over Halloween weekend. Tuesday will be cloudy. The city will kick off the day at 8 a.m. with a temperature hovering at the freezing mark. There’s a chance for a few small showers throughout the day, although the likelihood of precipitation is expected to increase around the supper hours. That is expected to kick off with rain, then quickly switch to snow. The Wednesday morning commute will likely be slow, with on-and-off snow expected to last until the early afternoon hours. The city is expected to receive about two to four centimetres of snow, and at times it will come with some windy conditions that will reduce visibility. We should then be done with the snow for the rest of the week — but not the cold. We won’t even get above freezing for Thursday and Friday. The temperature will recover a bit for Halloween on Saturday. John McMahon’s photo taken in Canyon Meadows gives us a good idea of what late Tuesday and Wednesday will look like.
