Calgary author’s debut novel hitting store shelves across Canada, the U.S., Great Britain

Calgary author Morgan Dick’s new book ‘Favourite Daughter’ tells the story of two estranged sisters and a multi-million-dollar inheritance.

Calgary author Morgan Dick is celebrating the release of her debut novel this week, with her publisher Penguin Random House putting it on store shelves across Canada, the U.S. and Great Britain.

“I’m still kind of processing it,” Dick told CTV News of the release of Favourite Daughter, named a Hottest Debut by Goodreads.

The novel centres on two estranged sisters, a multimillion-dollar inheritance and the pair’s interactions together in therapy.

“So much can go right and so much can go wrong and so, that setting, I was drawn to it as a great place for a story to unfold,” Dick said.

While film and TV rights for the book have not been optioned, Dick is already envisioning her dream cast in the two key roles—Anya Taylor-Joy and Rachel McAdams.
