A Brooks, Alta., woman is celebrating after winning a $100,000 Extra prize. Amanda Gray says she discovered the win unexpectedly while out shopping with family. “My mom and aunt picked me up to go grocery shopping and I was going through my wallet and saw some lottery tickets,” she said. “I started checking them on the Lotto Spot app and I couldn’t believe what I saw.” Gray said the surprise was almost too much to process and she had to check the ticket several times. “I was just too shocked to say anything,” she said. She now plans to use the money to replace her vehicle and support her family. “I’m going to buy a brand-new car because mine just broke down,” Gray said. “I’m also going to help my son purchase a used vehicle and put some away in savings.” Gray purchased her Western Max and Extra ticket from Brooks Gas Bar in Brooks. She won the Extra prize in the May 29 draw by matching the last six digits of the selected number - 6516654.
