Advance voting starts Wednesday for the 2026 local government and school board elections, giving voters in Victoria, Saanich and Langford a chance to cast their ballots before General Voting Day on Oct. 17. There is plenty on the ballot this year, including municipal leaders and councillors, school trustees and Capital Regional District representatives. Voters in Victoria and Saanich will also see a nonbinding question about whether the two municipalities should become one. The City of Victoria, District of Saanich and City of Langford have released their advance voting schedules. For voters looking to beat the lines or simply cast their ballots early, here is where and when you can vote starting Wednesday. Victoria The capital city is offering five advance voting opportunities between Oct. 7 and Oct. 15. The first is Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Victoria Conference Centre, Upper Pavilion on the second floor, at 720 Douglas St. Polls, and will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Additional advance voting will be available at Crystal Garden, 713 Douglas St., on Oct. 13, 14 and 15. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on each of those days. Voters can also cast their ballots at the University of Victoria Student Union Building, Michèle Pujol Room, at 3800 Finnerty Rd., on Oct. 14. That location will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An accessible voting machine will be available at the Victoria Conference Centre and Crystal Garden. Saanich Saanich has three advance voting days scheduled for Oct. 7, 13 and 14. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, voters can cast their ballots at Saanich Municipal Hall, 770 Vernon Ave., or the Hellenic Community Centre, also known as Greek Hall, at 4648 Elk Lake Dr. Both locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 13, advance voting will be available at Saanich Municipal Hall and Cedar Hill Recreation Centre, 3220 Cedar Hill Rd. also from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Wednesday, Oct. 14, voters can cast their ballots at the Hellenic Community Centre from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. An additional voting opportunity will be available at the University of Victoria Student Union Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saanich voters are electing a mayor, eight councillors, four CRD directors and school trustees for both School District 63 and School District 61. Langford Langford is keeping its advance voting in one location. The first opportunity is Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the dry floor arena space at Eagle Ridge Community Centre, 1089 Langford Parkway. The second advance voting day will be Wednesday, Oct. 14, also from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Langford voters will be choosing one mayor, six councillors and four School District 62 trustees. On General Voting Day, Saturday, Oct. 17, Langford voters can cast their ballots at Ruth King Elementary School, Millstream Elementary School, Happy Valley Elementary School or PEXSISEN Elementary School. Polling locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Accessibility at the polls Accessibility support is available for voters who need it. Voters who are unable to enter a voting place can request curbside voting, with an election official bringing a ballot to their vehicle. Voters who need help with the voting process can also receive assistance from an election official or someone accompanying them, subject to requirements protecting the secrecy of the ballot. Identification you’ll need Registered voters should bring one piece of identification. Anyone registering to vote at the polls must bring two pieces of identification and proof of residency. At least one piece must include a signature.
