The Brooks Bandits left it until late Saturday night, scoring in double overtime to defeat the Nanaimo Clippers 2-1. The win tied up their BCHL final at one game apiece. Rylan Hue scored his first post-season goal off a pass from Dante Siciliano at 12:51 to give Brooks the heartstopping victory. The game took four and a half hours to play, making it the longest Bandit game of the season. In the first period, Matthis Dufour gave Brooks a 1-0 lead for a few minutes before Nanaimo’s Tanner Bruender scored to tie it up before the first intermission. That was it for scoring until Hue’s goal over three hours later. Zach Zahara (39 saves) and Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau (49 saves) were both outstanding in net for both teams. Games 3 and 4 are set for Nanaimo Tuesday and Wednesday night, with Game 5 back in Brooks on Friday night.
