An Airdrie man says he’s planning a cross-country trip after winning $1 million on a lottery ticket. Michael White bought his Western Max ticket on at Kimmer Country Market on Veterans Boulevard in Airdrie. He won by matching the selection for one of the million-dollar prizes on the Dec. 20 draw: 4, 6, 15, 16, 27, 44 and 49. White says it was “perfect timing” for the win. “I just retired, and we were planning on buying a truck for my travel trailer to explore Canada in the spring.” “My wife and I are going to take the dog and head to Vancouver Island,” he said. “Then, we’ll start making our way across the country.” White said he’s also planning to give some of the winnings to his kids, and to give back to those who have helped his family in the past. “Times have been tough,” he admitted. “At one point, we actually had to use the food bank so now we’d like to donate and give back to them.” White said he and his wife are looking forward to the adventures ahead of them.
