One young Barrie entrepreneur is cutting lawns the old fashioned way. 12-year-old Vimarsh Chugh told CTV News he had been working, mowing lawns with a friend, but that friend decided to hang it up. Vimarsh then decided to step out on his own. With nothing but a manual mower and a strong work ethic, he started his own company, Green Cuts. Over the summer, Vimarsh has spent his evenings knocking on doors and cutting grass for cash. However, Vimarsh said he often gets questioned for his use of a manual mower. “Because I can’t legally use the electric one or any gas powered ones,” he explained. “I feel good for myself because this is basically like a workout to me,” Vimarsh added, “I’m saving up for a meta quest three because they’re really cool.” The 12-year-old entrepreneur is also dabbling in a bit of philanthropy, promising to donate 10 per cent of his earnings to the Barrie Food Bank. “I’m donating because I want to help my community,” he said. When the summer ends, the work continues for Vimarsh’s business, as the boy says he plans to shovel driveways come wintertime.
