In little more than a week the next Troubadour Festival Summer Concert Series show will return to Meridian Place in downtown Barrie. The Aug. 15 show will be headlined by Bahamas, but next weekend’s Troubadour party starts on Friday Aug. 14 and plays out as a two-day experience. “Friday night, we’ve got a tribute band to Jack Johnson starting at about eight o’clock,” Craig Stevens, downtown Barrie BIA executive director, tells CTV News. “Following that, we’ve got Jack Johnson’s latest surf movie showing outside in the same spot, in Meridian,” Stevens adds. The next day, concert attendees will be treated to a a barbecue showdown, skateboard demonstrations, family zones, art installments and more. Full day programming starts at noon on Aug. 15, with local openers Noah Ruttan, Jolie Anastasia, B Knox kicking the show off around 5 p.m, followed by headlining opener Zeus, who will take the stage just before Bahamas. The Troubadour Summer Concert Series is presented by Paul Sadlon Motors, CTV News Barrie, PURE COUNTRY 106, BOUNCE 104.1, Hey Bear Productions, Lemmon Entertainment, City of Barrie and Tourism Barrie.
