The Town of Wasaga Beach will be unveiling the first set of designs for what the future of the touristy beach town will look like. Destination Wasaga, a waterfront redevelopment initiative, is set to transform the world’s longest freshwater beach. The first phase in November engaged the public in feedback sessions have been used in the first concept designs that will be unveiled to the public during workshops from April 7 to 9 at the Wasaga Beach RecPlex. An award-winning Canadian planning and urban design firm, Urban Strategies, is developing the Master Plan, which includes ideas from the November feedback session. There are three workshop sessions for residents and the Town is asking for people to register for one. To register, people are invited to go to the Town of Wasaga Beach website. Destination Wasaga is using $38 million from the Ontario government to complete the revamp of the waterfront.
