Sunshine, 20+ temperatures set the stage for Victoria Day weekend in Barrie

The Victoria Day long weekend is shaping up to be one of the warmest weekends Barrie has seen this spring, with sunny skies and temperatures in the double digits.

Environment Canada’s latest forecast shows a 30 per cent chance of showers on Saturday with a daytime high of 20 C and a low of 8 C overnight.

Skies are expected to gradually improve heading into Sunday.

According to the national weather agency, Sunday is looking like a sunny day, with clear skies and another high of 20 C. Cloudy periods are expected in the night, with temperatures dipping to 11 C.

The warmest day of the long weekend is expected to be Monday, when temperatures in Barrie could climb to 27 C under mainly sunny skies.

Environment Canada says clouds will appear later in the day, bringing a 40 per cent chance of showers Monday night and a low of 17 C.
