Throughout the summer, the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) started looking into a suspected drug trafficking situation near Walker Avenue and Barrie Road in Orillia. Police executed a search warrant on Tuesday and two people were taken into custody. Police seized 90 grams of cocaine, $18,000 in Canadian currency, an air pistol, two cellular devices, a money counter, and other drug paraphernalia. A 20-year-old from Scarborough, and 42-year-old from Orillia are facing trafficking of cocaine charges, as well as possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes charges If you have any information about crime in the community, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
