Another Southern Georgian Bay officer has been arrested on charges of sexual assault. A Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigation into the conduct of Sgt. Blake Hamilton with the Southern Georgian Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment led SIU director Joseph Martino to approve the charges. Martino found he had reasonable grounds to believe that Hamilton committed criminal offences in December 2025 against a woman in Tay Township. The SIU was made aware of the allegations by the OPP on February 24. As a result of the SIU investigation, Hamilton is facing the following charges under the Criminal Code: These charges come on the heels of the arrest of another OPP officer from the Southern Georgian Bay detachment who was charged with sexual assault and breach of trust following an investigation by the province’s police watchdog. Zahid Javed is facing three counts of sexual assault and three counts of breach of trust. The charges stem from allegations involving three women and incidents the SIU says took place between August 2024 and October 2025. Javed is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Sept. 10.
