Provincial police are appealing to the driver and any passengers of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run last week on Highway 9 in Caledon to come forward. Officers responded to reports about a collision on August 25 around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Mount Pleasant Road and Mount Wolfe Road and arrived to find a cyclist had been struck by a vehicle. Police say the vehicle had left the scene before officers arrived. The cyclist sustained minor injuries. Investigators are working to piece together the events that transpired as the investigation continues. They have collected what police call “crucial evidence” from the scene, including pieces of a passenger-side mirror which is believed to be from a late-2000s or early 2010s Ford vehicle. Police encourage anyone with information on the collision to contact the authorities.
