Innisfil residents now have another reason to get outside and enjoy summer with the opening of Jackson Park, a new eight-acre community space along Lockhart Road. Located between Middlemass and Lamb streets in the growing Lakehaven development, the park offers a variety of features for residents of all ages. Jackson Park amenities The town says the new green space includes a shaded pavilion, accessible playground, seasonal sledding hill, outdoor fitness equipment, on-site parking and forest paths and asphalt trails. It is named in honour of former Innisfil Mayor Brian Jackson, the town’s longest-serving mayor. According to the municipality, Jackson served from 1998 to 2010 and is recognized for his contributions to the community during his years in office. Town officials say the park creates opportunities for recreation, fitness and outdoor gatherings while supporting the area’s growing population. An official ribbon cutting was held at 751 Lockhart Road Thursday night with Mayor Dollin and town council.
