Multiple vehicles involved in south Barrie crash

Emergency crews responded to a crash at one of Barrie’s rural south end intersections Sunday afternoon.

It happened near Veterans Drive and Salem Road.

When CTV News arrived on scene, at least two damaged vehicles were seen getting towed from the southeast corner of the intersection. One of them was a small black hatchback and the other was a black SUV.

Both had frontend damage and the hatchback had one of its airbags deployed. Another dark-coloured sedan was stopped on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Tow crews were also seen sweeping debris away from the intersection, while firefighters were directing a long line of slow-moving traffic from Salem Road onto Veterans Drive.

Police told CTV News one person suffered minor injuries, but no one was hospitalized.

The road reopened around 1:30 p.m.
