York Regional Police (YRP) are looking for witnesses and video of a three-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Friday morning in Georgina that resulted in the rider sustaining serious injuries. According to YRP, officers responded to reports at around 8:30 a.m. about a serious crash at Ravenshoe Road and Kennedy Road that involved two cars and a motorcycle. Police say the responding officers found a black motorcycle in the ditch with extensive damage, and the rider was found nearby with serious injuries. The other vehicles that police say were involved – a dark grey SUV and a silver pickup truck – were found near the intersection. The occupants were reportedly not seriously injured. The initial YRP investigation claimed that the motorcycle and SUV were travelling west on Ravenshoe Road when the motorcycle struck the rear of the SUV. Police say the impact caused the SUV to veer into the oncoming eastbound lanes, where it crashed into the pickup truck. The 32-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to a Toronto hospital, where police say they remain in ‘life-threatening’ condition. The reason for the motorcycle striking the SUV remains under investigation. The YRP Major Collision Investigations Unit is asking anyone with relevant dashcam footage and additional information to come forward.
