Barrie police officers spent the morning investigating a crash involving a police cruiser at the intersection of Ferndale Drive North and Dunlop Street West.

Officials took to social media just after 9 a.m. Wednesday to alert drivers about the collision.

Road closures were in effect at the intersections of Ferndale and Edgehill Drive, Ferndale and Elliott Avenue, Dunlop and Sarjeant Drive, and Dunlop and Tiffin Street, according to city police. They reopened just before noon.

Police say both drivers received minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The investigation remains ongoing
