You’d think a trip to the police station would be the last place someone would risk driving impaired, but that wasn’t the case in Wasaga Beach this week. A 58-year-old Tiny Township man is facing charges after allegedly leaving the Huronia West OPP detachment while under the influence. According to officers, the incident happened Wednesday around 4:05 p.m., when front desk staff said they noticed the man appeared impaired as he left the building and got into a vehicle. Officers were quickly alerted, tracked down the vehicle and launched an investigation. Police say the driver was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Police continue to stress that impaired driving remains a serious danger on Ontario roads.
