A suspect has been arrested after thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from Gravenhurst grocery stores. Police responded to a theft in progress at an Edward Street grocery store Tuesday afternoon after workers spotted a man they believed to have stolen from the store before. Bracebridge OPP allege the man had made a “sizeable” theft from another grocery store in Gravenhurst earlier in the day. The suspect is also alleged to have stolen thousand of dollars worth of product from grocery stores in the town on September 8 and 17. The alleged perpetrator, a 59-year-old man from Scarborough, is charged with four counts of theft Under $5,000 and six counts of fail to comply with probation. The suspect is in custody, expected for a bail hearing Thursday in Bracebridge.
