Have you ever considered donating your bags of leaves to help animals?

‘Tis the season for raking, bagging and unloading all those leaves from the yard, but did you know that those crunchy, dried leaves can help support a local wildlife centre?

Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is on the hunt for clean, dry leaves to provide cozy bedding and enrichment for its animals during the winter months.

"Do you have clean, dry leaves (any type) to spare? Our animals love them," the sanctuary asked in a Facebook post on Friday.

The centre is accepting donations of dry, bagged leaves of any type at anytime.

"Drop-offs can be left on the porch of our Intake Office at 1116 Crawford Street, Rosseau," the post added. "Thank you for helping keep our wildlife comfy and happy this winter."

The sanctuary is home to injured and orphaned animals that they hope to return to the wild once rehabilitated.

Aspen Valley is one of the few centres able to shelter and care for permanent wildlife residents on a long-term basis and relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers.
