Gala to celebrate women making a difference in the community

Right across Canada, the YWCA hosts Women of Distinction galas to recognize women and their leadership.

It’s a night of celebrating women who have been making waves in the community.

The Women of Distinction YWCA Muskoka Awards Gala will celebrate the recipients of these prestigious awards.

“A woman of distinction is an inspiration to others who has made a commitment to her community as a leader and role model. As a catalyst for change, she breaks new ground and old barriers,” says YWCA Muskoka in a statement on its website. “She shows vision, creativity and initiative and has improved the lives of those in Muskoka.”

The gala is taking place on Thurs., April 2, 2026 at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville. Cocktails and a silent auction are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and dinner and the awards ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m.

Seven women will be honoured at the gala with the following awards:

• Isabella Bullock, Young Woman of Distinction
• Aimee Bulloch-Moore, Arts, Culture and Creativity
• Jody North, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
• Joyce Jonathan Crone, Transforming Community
• Sarah Jean Smith, Health, Sports, and Wellness
• Michelle Battaglia, Skilled Trades
• Catherine Cole, Lifetime Achievement

Proceeds from ticket sales of the gala will support the YWCA’s educational programs and social services for women and girls throughout Muskoka.
