A Barrie man accused of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine while exploiting a teenage girl for sexual services has pleaded guilty as the Crown seeks an 11-year sentence. Maquis Clark, who is now 34, admitted to trafficking the vulnerable teen from Brampton to Barrie in 2024, supplying her cocaine and alcohol, and buying her lingerie while advertising and selling her sexual services online to men across he GTA. RELATED: Ont. man, 33, arrested following human trafficking investigation that began in November 2024 The court heard, as part of an Agreed Statement of Fact, that Clark was arrested last October in North Bay after trying to run from police and scale a fence. Clark was found with a loaded gun, cocaine, and fentanyl. He admitted to having about 300 grams of cocaine and 33 grams of fentanyl on him. Clark took responsibility for controlling the teen while sex trafficking her between May and Nov. 2024 by setting terms and services with her customers and taking half of her earnings. The court heard, when the teen argued with Clark about her pay, she said Clark made her fear for her safety. On one occasion, she told police that Clark took all of her pay. The Crown said the teen was taken to a rental home in Barrie and told by Clark to buy more lingerie and condoms for prospective clients. Already banned for life from having weapons on him, Clark, according to court records obtained by CTV News, has outstanding criminal charges in Newmarket and Brampton. He is accused of assault and weapons charges. The remaining allegations against him have not been tested in court. RELATED: Accused sex trafficker pleads guilty to giving fake name to police Clark was accused of attempted murder in June 2012 following a double shooting at a plaza in Mississauga that sent two men to hospital. Clark was 19 at the time. Those charges were later withdrawn. Barrie Police also charged 27-year-old Lipeka Kienga last year with trafficking and procuring a person for sexual services and failing to comply with a probation order. Kienga was granted bail with an ankle monitor in November and returns to court in mid-September. The allegations against her have not been tested in court. Clark is scheduled to return to a virtual courtroom from jail next week to set a date for his sentencing hearing after the defence requested an enhanced pre-sentence report to assist the court in better understanding Clark’s history.
