BWG hosts 13th annual family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration

Ring in Bradford West Gwillimbury’s New Year’s Eve celebration at the annual Snow Much Fun Family First Night.

The festivities run on December 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the BWG Leisure Centre and Public Square.

The free family-friendly event features indoor activities from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., including leisure skating, swimming, inflatable obstacle courses in the gymnasium, a toddler area, busker shows, a photo booth, glitter tattoos, a caricature artist and crafts.

“Snow Much Fun is a wonderful way for our community to come together and celebrate the season,” said Mayor James Leduc. “New this year, Bradford is expanding outdoor activities that will take place in the public square.

Outdoor activities will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and will include busker shows, music by Cara Lea & Leo, train rides, a food truck, free hot chocolate, giveaways and a busker fire show to conclude the evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“With activities for all ages across the Leisure Centre, public square, and Sunshine Square, it’s an evening that truly showcases the spirit of BWG,” said Leduc.

The event is open to everyone, and all activities are free of charge. Non-perishable food items will be collected for the Bradford Helping Hand Food Bank.

The following items are needed: oatmeal & cereals, pasta, pasta sauces, canned fish & meat, snack foods such as granola bars and crackers, peanut butter, canned vegetables, baby food, diapers, wipes, soaps, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, menstrual products and toilet paper.
