Bikes, helmets and safety skills; Innisfil hosts free ‘bike rodeo’ for kids

Before your kid rides face-first into their BMX biking dreams, the town of Innisfil says they are welcome to stop by for a course in bike safety.

South Simcoe Police is hosting what it calls a community bike rodeo, free of charge.

Youth are encouraged to bring their bikes (or scooters) and helmets to learn important bike safety tips and have a go at an obstacle course.

The event comes at no cost to participants and is meant to help children build confidence and promote safer cycling habits.

Participating kids can also enter for a chance to win a free bike and helmet.

The event will be held at 1455 Innisfil Beach Road on Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
