It’s a been a busy off-season for the Barrie Colts. The team has new owners but it appears they will not be changing much more in the front office. The team has announced the extension of the contract of general manager, Marty Williamson. Williamson first coached the colts from 2004 to 2010, he then returned to the organization in 2020 as general manager and head coach, before transitioning to his current role as vice president and general manager in 2025. The team also announced the resigning of head coach Dylan Smoskowitz. Smoskowitz, a former colts forward from 2010 to 2012, rejoined the club as assistant coach in 2021 before being promoted to head coach in 2025. In his first year behind the bench he lead the team to an eastern conference title and an appearance in the OHL final.
