A man and a woman are facing drug trafficking charges after a hefty investigation led to the seizure of alleged cocaine, oxycodone, loads of cash and other paraphernalia, police say. The investigation started in the fall and targeted suspected drug trafficking activities across Simcoe County. On Saturday, Orillia OPP officers carried out search warrants in Severn Township with help from nearby street crime units. As a result of the probe, a significant amount of drugs and cash was found, including more than five kilograms of suspected cocaine, oxycodone tablets, over $110,000 in Canadian currency, a vehicle, electronics and items linked to drug distribution. A 20-year-old woman from Barrie is scheduled for a bail hearing, while a 22-year-old man from Severn Township has been released and is set to appear in court at a later date.
