For the third year in a row, Toronto's Dufferin Street has been voted the worst road in Ontario.

CAA South Central Ontario's annual list is based on nominations, submitted online, for which roads in the province need the most attention.

The survey is meant to raise awareness of the need for infrastructure investment.

"I know the city is very well aware that Dufferin is on the top of the list," CAA spokesperson Faye Lyons said in a news conference on Wednesday, noting that the street was also voted worst road in 2013 and 2012.

Lyons blamed the street's poor condition on high levels of traffic.

"We share our roads with cyclists, with transit users, motorists, so they're very well-travelled," Lyons said.

Several other Toronto roads made the list: Kipling Avenue, Finch Avenue West, Bayview Avenue, Markham Road, Lawrence Avenue East and Wilson Avenue.

Of the top ten worst roads, only three are outside of Toronto.

Here is the complete list:

  1. Dufferin Street (Toronto)
  2. Stanley Avenue (Niagara Falls)
  3. Kipling Avenue (Toronto)
  4. Finch Avenue West (Toronto)
  5. Burlington Street East (Hamilton)
  6. Bayview Avenue (Toronto)
  7. Carling Avenue (Ottawa)
