Man, 44, facing charges after potential domestic assault: Charlottetown police

A Charlottetown man is facing charges following an alleged assault in the city Monday night.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a report of a potential domestic altercation at a home around 10:45 p.m.

Officers found the victim who had “visible signs of a recent physical altercation.”

A 44-year-old man was found inside the home and was arrested.

He has been charged with:

• assault
• failure to comply with undertaking

Police say the charges are in addition to an outstanding warrant for another assault charge laid in February.

The man was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
