Three people are set to receive Prince Edward Island’s highest honour. The Order of Prince Edward Island recognizes Islanders who have shown “individual excellence or outstanding leadership” in their community or profession. Dr. Scott Cameron, Eileen Chiasson-Pendergast and Dave Stewart were selected from 38 nominees. The province says Cameron is a deserving recipient for his dedication to creating and developing professional emergency medical services across P.E.I. Tignish resident Chiasson-Pendergast was chosen for her work to preserve and revitalize the Acadian and Francophone community in West Prince. And Stewart, a multi-disciplined creative, was selected for his work and advocacy for the Island’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community. They will each receive insignias during an investiture ceremony at Government House in Charlottetown this fall. The ceremony will be livestreamed online.
