A woman is facing charges after she allegedly tried to rob a convenience store in the north end of Halifax over the long weekend. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Needs on Duffus Street around 12 a.m. Saturday. Police say a woman entered the store, demanded money and threatened to inject an employee with drugs. The employee managed to run out of the store and locked the suspect inside. The employee was not injured. Police say the suspect then threw a cash register at the glass front door, which shattered. Kaily Kathleen Walkden was arrested at the scene.
