Two businesses damaged following fire in downtown Kentville

A commercial building in downtown Kentville was damaged after an overnight fire.

No one was injured following a fire at a commercial building in downtown Kentville early Wednesday morning.

Kentville Fire Services says the fire started around 3 a.m. behind two businesses near Aberdeen and Webster Streets. A shed behind the business was fully engulfed in the fire which spread to nearby businesses.

Extensive damage was reported to the first floor of the building, but it was quickly put out once crews arrived.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
