Tuesday marks five years since three-year-old Dylan Ehler went missing in Truro, N.S. Dylan disappeared on May 6, 2020. Investigators believe he fell into a stream behind his grandmother’s home on Elizabeth Street and was swept away. Dylan’s grandmother, Dorothy Parsons, has repeatedly said she was with the toddler in her backyard when she turned her back to tie up her dog. “I turn around and he was just gone. Gone. I have no explanation,” Parsons told CTV News in May 2021, on the one-year-anniversary of Dylan’s disappearance. Since his disappearance, multiple searches for the young boy, including in and along the banks of the nearby Salmon River, have been conducted, with only the young boy’s boots found. Age progression photos released Two years after his disappearance, the Truro Police Service released age progression drawings depicting what Dylan might look like. The force continues to release those photos, along with images of the clothing he was wearing on the day he disappeared. Truro police say Dylan’s disappearance is still an active and open missing person investigation, and adds there is no evidence to suggest foul play. “The Truro Police Service recognizes how difficult these last five years have been on Dylan’s parents, family, and the community,” said the Truro Police Service in a Facebook post on Tuesday. Police continue to ask anyone with information that could lead to the discovery of Dylan to call 902-895-5351. Search efforts continue A volunteer group called “Please Bring Me Home” has organized a search in Truro during the weekend of May 30. The group says the search will cover multiple areas around the town and is encouraging members of the community to get involved.
