Truro, N.S., police seize cocaine, arrest 4 people at traffic stop

Four people have been arrested on various charges after police conducted a traffic stop in Truro, N.S., Thursday.

Police say two men in the vehicle were breaching court conditions and wanted on an outstanding warrant of arrest.

Police informed them were under arrest and one of them allegedly fled the vehicle on foot. He was apprehended after a brief pursuit.

“During the arrest, a female passenger obstructed police and was arrested for assaulting police officers and obstruction,” reads a social media post from Truro police on Friday.

A fourth person in the vehicle was also arrested when police say they found illegal items inside.

“A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine, a digital scale, cash, two cellular telephones, and a replica firearm,” police say.

A 36-year-old man from Truro has been charged with:

• two counts of failing to comply with a release order
• one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

A 38-year-old man from Shortts Lake, N.S., has been charged with:

• two counts of failing to comply with a release order
• one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

A 27-year-old woman from Bible Hill, N.S., has been charged with:

• two counts of assaulting a peace officer
• one count of obstruction

A 42-year-old woman from Salmon River, N.S., has been charged with:

• one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
