Three youths facing charges following assault with a weapon: Halifax police

Three youths are facing multiple charges following an assault with a weapon in Halifax.

The Halifax Regional Police responded to a report that a group of youths wearing medical masks were shooting a weapon in the area in the area of Lavender Walk and Greystone Drive around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

“When officers arrived, they found a second group of youth who reported encountering the first group. They said a weapon was pointed at them before the suspects fled,” reads a news release from the Halifax Regional Police.

“The suspects then returned, assaulted one of the youths, and fired a shot at them.”

Police say the weapon is believed to be a BB gun and the victims did not require medical attention.

All three suspects were arrested and scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court Monday.

A 13-year-old youth is facing charges of:

• robbery
• assault
• assault with a weapon
• failure to comply with undertaking

A 14-year-old youth is facing charges of:

• robbery
• assault
• assault with a weapon
• two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous to public peace
• carrying a concealed weapon
• failure to comply with condition of release order

A 15-year-old youth is facing charges of:

• robbery
• assault
• two counts of assault with a weapon
• two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
• three counts of pointing a firearm
• failure to comply with undertaking while at large
• intimidation-violence/threats
