Three youths arrested in connection with fires, damage in Bridgewater, N.S.

Three youths have been arrested in connection with fires and property damage at multiple locations in Bridgewater, N.S., last June.

The Bridgewater Police Service and Bridgewater Fire Department responded to Shipyards Landing on south King Street around 3:30 a.m. on June 15, 2025.

When they arrived, police say the southernmost section of the floating dock in the LaHave River at Shipyards Landing was on fire.

Investigators determined the fire, which destroyed the floating dock, had been intentionally set.

Police also noticed property belonging to the Shipyard Shindig Music and Arts Festival or its contractors had been damaged.

“Several other instances of damage to property were reported around Bridgewater,” said Bridgewater police in a statement.

Following an investigation, three youths have been arrested for arson and mischief.

Police say two of the youths have been released from custody and will face charges of arson and mischief at later dates.

The third youth has been referred to the Restorative Justice Program.
