A search is underway for 30-year-old Latef Tag El Din who police say left the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, N.S., around 2:45 pm Monday. Tag El Din is described as five-foot-10 and 169 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light grey Roots jogging suit, a dark color toque, and black and white footwear. He has several tattoos, including full sleeves on both arms, a skull on his right forearm, “Money” on the right hand, and “Building” on the left hand. The Bridgewater Police Service said in a Facebook post Tag El Din is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and is considered dangerous. The regional hospital was placed on lockdown during this time. It was lifted around 6 p.m. Police didn’t say why he was in the hospital, nor how he escaped custody. “Bridgewater Police Service was advised by staff from South Shore Regional Hospital of a suspicious male trying to obtain medical treatment after being at the hospital for a number of hours,” reads the Facebook post. “During the investigation police learned the wanted male arrived at hospital in a red Dodge Caravan driven by a female.” Police say there were no new offences committed in Bridgewater and “at no time was the public’s safety at risk.” Police believe he is no longer in the area, adding the red Dodge Caravan has not been located and he may still be travelling with them. According to police, Tag El Din is known to frequent Vaughan and Ottawa, Ontario, as well as Calgary and Edmonton, along with Halifax and Kentville, N.S. Back in January, Ontario Provincial Police - Highway Safety Division said they were looking for Tag El Din, saying he was serving a two-year, 11-month sentence for: Police are asking anyone who sees Tag El Din to call Bridgewater Police at 902-543-2464 or 911.
