The Ottawa Titans rang in the city’s 200th birthday with the team’s first championship title win in its history. The Titans wrapped up the Frontier League Championship Series Saturday night with a convincing 4-0 win over the Evansville Otters in Game 4 of the best-of-five series. Ottawa’s Ky Hampton retired 16 batters he faced, pitching eight scoreless frames, while allowing just three hits and striking out seven. Eric Pardinho closed out the game, retiring three in quick succession, as the Titans stormed the field in celebration and the crowd of fans inside the Ottawa Stadium erupted in cheers. The win was the third straight victory in the series after falling 6-0 in Game 1 in Indiana. It was the team’s only loss in the playoffs. Game 3 set an MLB partner league playoff attendance record with 10,303 fans packing the Ottawa Stadium, according to a news release from the team. It was Ottawa’s first time reaching the championship series since inaugural season in 2022. The series marks the final time the league will play under the Frontier League banner as it rebrands to the National Association of Professional Baseball next season. The 2027 season schedule is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
