Man dies after being struck by vehicles on Highway 104 in Stellarton, N.S.

Pictou County RCMP is investigating after a man was struck and killed by vehicles on Highway 104 in Stellarton, N.S.

RCMP, fire services and EHS responded to a report of a collision between exits 24 and 25 on Thursday around 6:50 p.m., said a news release.

Officers learned a 45-year-old man from southwest Nova Scotia was walking in the westbound lane when he was struck by vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said criminality is not believed to be a factor. An RCMP reconstructionist attended the scene and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is involved in the ongoing investigation.

Investigators are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of Highway 104 in the Stellarton area from approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to contact Pictou County District RCMP.

Highway 104 was closed for several hours. It has since reopened.
