Halifax Transit will be free to use Friday night across the municipality. The NSLC is partnering with Halifax Transit to offer free rides across the municipality from 6 p.m. to the end of service on buses, ferries, and Access-a-Bus. The initiative is part of NSLC’s Safe Rides program which supports transportation options at events and celebrations in communities across Nova Scotia and encourages “Nova Scotians to plan ahead, not drive impaired and choose a safe way home.” The weekend is expected to be a busy one in the city’s downtown core, as the Halifax Music Fest kicks off Friday on the Garrison Grounds.
